Terms of Service

What this is
SLOD is a personal project: a social feed and a game, run by one person, offered as-is. Using it means agreeing to what follows. If you disagree with any of it, do not use the site.
Your account
One account per person. You are responsible for what happens under it, so keep your password to yourself. You must be at least 13. Give a real email address — it is the only way to recover the account, and the only way to be reached about it.
What you post
What you write stays yours. Posting it here grants permission to store and display it on the site, and nothing further — it will not be licensed, sold or used to advertise anything.
Do not post:
- anything illegal, or anything that encourages it
- harassment, threats, or targeted abuse of a person
- sexual content involving minors, under any framing
- content you have no right to publish
- spam, scams, or automated bulk posting
- malware, or attempts to break or overload the service
Hashtags are open to everyone. Nobody owns one, and nobody can be removed from one — but a post can be hidden wherever it sits.
Moderation
Posts and comments that break these rules can be hidden, and accounts can be deactivated. Hidden content is marked rather than destroyed, so a decision can be reversed if it turns out to be wrong. Ask, if you think one was.
Verification badges are granted by hand and mean the account is who it says it is. They can be removed if that stops being true. They cannot be bought.
Purchases
Anything bought in the game is a licence to use virtual items inside it. It is not property, has no value outside the game, and cannot be cashed out. Payments are handled by Stripe.
Refunds are at discretion — ask, and expect a straight answer. If the service closes for good, unspent purchases cannot be refunded, which is worth knowing before spending anything you would mind losing.
No guarantees
This is a hobby project. It may go down, lose data, change, or stop existing, without notice and without compensation. It is provided without warranty of any kind, and liability is limited to the greatest extent the law allows. Keep your own copy of anything you would be upset to lose.
Ending it
You can stop at any time and ask for your account to be closed — see the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data. Accounts that break these terms can be closed from this end.
Changes and contact
These terms may change; the date at the top changes with them, and continuing to use the site means accepting the new version. Questions go to support@slod.com.
